General Laborer

General Labor $15/hr

A local company in Hockley, TX, is searching for General Laborers to assist in the daily operations of recycling sorting. This is a temp-hire position in a fast-paced environment. Interested candidates, please contact:

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm, 30 minutes lunch break & 2 paid 15-minute breaks.

Responsibilities:

• Manually sort through piles of mixed construction debris, separating materials into categories such as wood, drywall, metal, trash, etc.
• Use tools such as hammers, pry bars, and screwdrivers to dismantle debris as needed to sort materials.
• Place sorted materials into designated bins, piles or areas.
• Follow safety procedures when working with hazardous materials such as broken glass or exposed nails.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers or forklifts to move materials (experience required).
• Comply with all policies and procedures for waste sorting and recycling.

Qualifications:

• Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds.
• Safety-focused mindset and compliance with PPE requirements.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials.
• Strong work ethic to sustain productivity in outdoor environment.
